David -
I suggest you go to the "Dan's Ancient Pics" thread (or something like that - I'm old and can't remember the thread name) and pick up the pic of the Crusher at EPA - that would make an even 42.

This one looks familar (ok, I'm sure there are thousands like it), any info on it? Only barely seeing the guy's head above the trunk, I sent this picture to my ex-girlfriend to see if it's her Dad and his Camaro. Long Beach?

It's the one. That's Ron Verne, he owns Verne's Chrome Plating in Gardena. (http://www.verneschromeplating.com/) I was going out with his daughter when he got it back from getting painted. I passed the message along ;)
Here's a picture of it from his site:

Re: Photo Gallery: 41 Shots of '67-'69 Camaros
If memory serves, that was a 350 crate motor from a - um - well know aftermarket performance company (to remain nameless). I think something happened to the motor after it was initially fired and it got sent to Norm Brandes in Wisconsin. He tore it down and was disgusted - it wasn't even clean inside, never mind machined and built properly. So he went completely thru the motor, remachined everything, and put it together with an eye toward lower emissions. The rest are History.
