Some body should send that to the Wigs at Nascar. Maybe they have forgot how good a STOCK car race should be. Big TEX wadded that ford up for sure.

          Pre-window nets.

I could watch that kind of racing all day long. The crap they do today holds no interest to me.

Obviously, I'm in the minority (perhaps not on this site, but by the public in general)

In the past year I have watched this many times.... I also emailed it to a bunch of my friends a while back...

This is what racing should look like...

That is badass, watching the rear end come out on some of those cars in the corners. Love the 'stick sticking out of the bottom right corner of the screen at 0:32.

Somebody should organize a road course event for short-track Street Stock cars, dirt or paved.

                That was fantastic.

They sure raced each other cleaner back then. I wonder if it was because many of them had open wheel experience. Nowadays Parnelli's pass for the lead would have been met with a chrome horn.

There are soooo many things going right in that video. Big cars (that I could tell what they were), limited traction, no banks on the turns, even with top speeds just over 100mph the racing was great.
                  Escaped on a technicality.

Loved this video. Like has already been said, I like the idea that I can actually recognize what kind of car each was without looking for it being spelled out across the front of it. The idea of those big machines on a road course is almost unimaginable -- but it was for real and was really enjoyable to watch.

The jump was EPIC! Revell-monogram just came out with a 1/32 slot car of Gurney's car. I think I need it after seeing that video.

Nothing like full size Detroit iron being tossed around in four wheel sliding turns. It's videos like that give me the urge to drive in ways that can have my license taken away.

                        Thanks for posting it.
