Re: CraigsList Pick of the Week: Dirt Cheap Centurion Convertible
There was a guy on the buick board who lives in LA that had one of these until it was torched in front of his house. Only having liability ins at the time it was a total loss for him. Someone on V8 started to collect donations to replace his car and a couple grand was raise. He looked for a long time for a decent replacement but eventually settled on a 66 Wildcat hardtop.
I wonder if I should send him this link or would that just be tormenting him?

Re: CraigsList Pick of the Week: Dirt Cheap Centurion Convertible
about 20 years ago I bought a 72 impala convertible for 800 bucks. Had some rust in the floors, some front end damage, some bondo in the quarters, and a 402/th400. It ended up being something I should probably not have messed with...I sold the car with a really tired 350 swapped into it, the 402 ended up in my 66 Suburban before I sold it, and I parted out a couple more early 70s full size cars only because I had the ragtop.
At least I learned that those 70s full size cars are money holes.....
(but I dig Randal's whale!)

My first car was my grandma's low mileage '72 Centurion with a 455. I've lusted after a '71 Convertible ever since.

I can't look at the ad in detail here at work, but a grand don't sound bad. I paid $2500 for mine with a destroyed crank. Every time I think about selling mine I just drive it and I can't bring myself to do it.Escaped on a technicality.
