I can say with absolute certainty that GM Performance Parts is NOT dead.
That which you manifest is before you.

Then what are we talking about??

      Steve
Well I have stopped buying stuff for cars I don't own. Is that a step in the right or wrong direction?

        Wow :-[
If that division is making money, or even breaking even and keeping folks employed this is the foolish!
If they are loosing money I totally understand the move.

We're talking about anything with an SS badge (including the Camaro), CTS-V, and the future development of any production performance cars.

We're also talking about development of concept and specialty vehicles, amongst a bunch of other stuff.

Is GM Performance division sepparate from GM performance PARTS?
I suspect it is now that I think about it.

It says Development of High Performance products on hold. THe Camaro is already set to go they probably built some already. And here I go off to Chrysler.

The only Camaros produced thus far have been pre-production units.

                        THEY'LL STILL HAVE the ss
it might just have to become a rpo# like z-28
                        but not a "model"
they will not turn off that money maker..
just have to move the why they sell it..
might not be a 2010 camaro SS
it could be a camaro with perfered option package ss

methinks that getting a hold of one of those, would be a good idea for a collector.

so basically we don't even know if there'll be a camaro for sure. That sucks.

but clearly, it's not looking great for GMPP's future. What a shame that would be - they're a great bunch of talented engineers & gearheads

the government has their nadds in a vice..
and with the drive to lower green house gasses..
that isn't as far fetched as I'd like to think

Re: Bombshell! GM Performance Dead (For Now)

The GM Performance Division is NOT dead. The development of FUTURE performance vehicles is on hold for a while. Many of the people that work in the Performance Division will be reassigned to work on other future products, but could be brought back when the requirements change. Vehicles like the Camaro SS, G8 GXP, and the CTS-V are already developed and are being built.

GM Performance Parts will continue, as will the Performance Division. There will still be crate engines, show cars and one-off vehicle builds. This point was specifically explained to us in todays meetings.
