If I had any interest in LSR, this would be fascinating (I do - it is). Where's the car now? I should know that but can't pull it up. I assume it either crashed or is in a British museum somewhere. I know I could Google it but I wonder if any of you Junkies are carrying this tidbit around in your noggin.

Weight 4.75 tons, btw... During the thirties, aircraft development in Briton was a national pride...surely the Blue Bird series borrowed heavily. 300mph is unimaginable for the time....

The 60's car was driven by his son... Donald Campbell... still with the family name Bluebird... then of course his Grandson drove another Bluebird electric car on the Pendine Sands a few years back....
Donald's sister's son's name is Donald Wales... He and I have become freinds over the years and he's driven the Camaro at Maxton to the tune of 175mph...
We've talked at length about him coming to Bonneville... but it's all just what it is these days...

There is a replica in the Campbell gallery at the Lakeland Motor Museum, England.

Ya' know, it seems to me that it's only a matter of time til the dudes over at Blastolene, Michael Leeds, et al, produce their own version of an LSR in the same vein as the Bluebird.
