Re: Gearhead Guys You Should Know: Sydney Allard
Excellent choice to highlight Mr. Allard. Damn shame he didn't get to stick around longer. Did they keep making the Dragon kits after his death? I wonder how many got sold/built? I have a fantasy of someone finding a kit in a barn somewhere in England.......

Those Allard sports cars get big bucks these days, especially the cadillac powered ones. Those lightweight cars with a Caddy engine must haul the mail because the 58 Caddy I work is no slouch at all. Most of Allard's got the dual four versions too.BS'er formally known as Rebeldryver

Cool stuff, I went to the National Autmobile Museum in Reno; and was admiring the De Dion cars - even bought the book about the 1908 race NY-Paris (the long way)... it's never ceased being amazing to me about how many people with mad skills converged to make the sport what it is - especially over such a short (relative to overall history) timeframe.Doing it all wrong since 1966
