Re: Site of the Week: Richard Carpenter's Car Collection

I have actually had the opportunity to wander throught his collection a few times, as a freind of mine worked there for a couple of years and it is close to my home. Really Really nice cars, well preserved and treated, and occasionally driven.

I just spent an hour on his website.

only 5 minutes of it was looking at his car collection. His "Fans Ask" section is *awesome* if you're into recording, music production, etc. He answers questions and talks about huge experiences (like mastering sessions with guys like bernie grundman) as if it were no big deal...

I realize their music was not what most guys here are into - but the carpenters were extremely talented recording artists. That guy has a neat little website.

What an interesting collection (Other than the Prowler). I love those Chrysler 300's. And naturally the R2 Avanti.... :

The Christmas album is fantastic! It plays at our house from Thanksgiving till New Years. Isn't he often one of those phone bidders on Barrett-Jackson? Gary in Tucson

Bought a '70 440 six pack 'Cuda brand new?!

            How cool is that?!

Plus the way he optioned that machine makes it one of the coolest and unique of the breed I've ever seen. And he still has it!

            Right On!

And yea, I've always loved the Carpenters music. Sounds just right on the cassette in the GS.............

FACT My parent's old next door neighbor once owned an all original unrestored '57 Chevy that was purchased from R.C.

FACT Said next door neighbor chauffeured me and my date to my High School Prom in that car.

It was a 283 with a turboglide and it was a sweet sweet car.
