Those things start more forest fires. A couple years ago, they burned a good part of the Columbia River gorge (2 fires) and it cost them plenty in losses... it's remarkable because prior to those fires, the RR didn't have to pay no matter how negligent. Now they do. I get that they have to do it, but, given how much they have to pay out for forest fires, you'd think they'd have enough trains to do the task during the winter...
