Before Sonoma (formerly known as Sears Point and Infineon) bypassed turns 5 and 6 for NASCAR, shortening the track from 2.52 miles to 1.95 miles, Ford won there several times.
1991 -- Davey Allison
1993 -- Geoff Bodine
1994 -- Ernie Irvan
1996 -- Rusty Wallace
1997-- Mark Martin
Ford also won before on the shorter course in 2002 (Ricky Rudd) Thus, the claim of "first win for Ford" isn't accurate.
