Re: eBay Pick of the Week: 1972 Pantera
I was looking at one of these that was sitting at Deed's Automotive in Burbank one day. It had no engine or trans in it, and was awaiting repair. Some quick looks underneath and all around the little red number made me realize how much room they really have. I'm fairly certain you could put a Hemi in one! I've always thought they were a cool looking car, and appreciated the american power. I would love one with an aluminum small block Chevy with turbos. Or a big injected Hemi."A cross thread is better than a lock washer." Earl Lanning...My Grandpa

Originally posted by THUNDERBIRD86A while back I saw one for sale online super cheap just a bare shell and wondered where it would fit for a LSR car. I think a Yates style small Ford would be sweet in one. As much as I like them Mongusta's are evan cooler.
They do look sweet, though.

These are cool looking cars. There was one at a local show here last summer that I was drooling over. It was rough, but was a driver. It had an in-car camera mounted on the roll-cage, so I'm sure it was the source for some pretty fun videos!Still plays with trucks....

Re: eBay Pick of the Week: 1972 Pantera
I have always wanted a Pantera, but alas a teacher's salary would never allow it. I remember looking at new cars in 1972 and fuming because I couldn't afford the $5k for a new BMW 2002 Tii, then seeing a new Pantera sitting close by and just getting in the car and driving off. Those Campagnolo wheels are really cool.

Re: eBay Pick of the Week: 1972 Pantera
This is me pulling out of the driveway in a '73. It had about 25K miles on it. Love that color.
Anyway, it was one of a few cars I did repairs on for a friend. He also had a red one with a built 351C, two Porsche 928's, a 911,a 924, and few others, including some VW factory team racecars.
He told me not to take the Panteras above 125 because they get real sketchy, so I kept it below 120. ;D
