  • Winter Layover 2024-25

    Hey Ya Rusty Iron Junkies!

Up here in the Tall Timber Country of Area BFE,
Now that winter is about to set in.....
To beat the Winter Melancholies, we have the "First Saturday following any Friday Meetings"

Ours are Called the "Lost Home Boys Garage"
Usually at my shop (Its Heated) or can be at others too.

Talk about anything BUT POLITICS, RELIGION!!
No Dues, No Secret Handshakes, No Officers, or Committees

And some get togethers, bring Little Bench Top Projects. All sit around the table, taking turns dissecting the Object, and diagnose what could be wrong......i.e. a Toaster that heats but doesn't pop up/stop. (You Can't Believe ALL the parts in a Toaster!!! And the Chinese build them for under $25.00)
AND what is deemed, A Lost Cause.....
Is graciously swept off the table into the Scrap Barrel on the end of the table!

Of course Pizza and Beers are to be offered
Along with Venison Sausage, Cheese, Pickled Herring, with Crackers !!

    So Hozers and Hozettes,
Open your own Chapter of the
    "Lost Home Boys Garage "

And invite the Future Tool Box Robbers Too.
Kids will Enlighten You with Surprising interjections !!
"Dad !! I do DATE Girls.....Last Week I brought one Home. She was Just LIKE Mom !!!
    YOU Hated Her !!"

    Last Saturday's discussions......

    Winter Storage of your "Toys".
    Suggestions:

Fully Drain your battery of All Voltage
and then to keep it Fresh for Spring,
    store at Temps
    Below 32°F recommended.

Deplete the air in All Tires. (This sometimes happens naturally over the winter)

Drain All Brake Fluid and Charge system with Argon from your Welding Cart.

Add 1 quart of ATF to your Fuel Tank in the Theory that it will Float on top of the Gasoline and Seal it from Moisture.

    Cover your vehicle,
With ANYTHING that needs a place to ride out winter, like, Lawn Chairs, Boat Cushions, Halloween Decorations, etc....

Please Add Any of your own Winterizing Techniques to bring up at Next Saturday's Meeting.

There was no Lost Home Boys Garage Saturday.
It is GUN DEER HUNTING SEASON here in the Frozen Tundra.

And I will tell you later of how my Second Day of the Season got TOTALLY DERAILED !
Later this evening. I just came in to make another pot of coffee and check in while
      In brewed.
