This is a new museum and thought some of you may be interested. I will be setting up a group visit soon but did not want anyone to miss this.
Dear friends of RIAM,
I am excited to announce that this Saturday, 5/17/08 at 12:00 PM the Riverside International Automotive Museum will have a very special group of visitors, the Fabulous 50's. This is a group of men and women who were literally pioneers of sports car racing in California and across the country. They raced at places like Paramount Ranch, Pomona, Hansen Dam in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Willow Springs, March Air Force Base and, of course, Riverside and many others. They raced cars like Kurtis, Allard, Ferrari Monza, Simca, D type Jag, Maserati Birdcage, the Flying Shingle, Ol' Yaller and the Pink Elephant. There will be lots of great old stories told, and they promised me most of them will be at least partially true.
So, come on out and enjoy some coffee and snacks, and step back in time to sports car racing of the 50's and 60's.
