The thing that's weirding me out about the Scorpion interview is that they have yet to release their announcement about the status of the sale and nothing has moved forward on that front.

Each day nothing happens the auction looms closer....tick tock

            dangit -
I Hope they can get something sorted out and keep the company alive in some sort of way.

likely it's the patents and intellectual property that are the sticking points in the change of ownership.

GM stock is lower than Ford, and Crane cams is going under....

            these are dark days folks!
There's always something new to learn.

You know I hate to see Crane go, but face it I haven't used one of their cams in ages. Back in the day I had three different Crane cams wear lobes down, so that was the last I used of them. I did like their split duration/lift cams, but now a days the other cam companies are offering the same type of the grinds. And like with all good businesses, there's always an end point.

comp may get some of those top secret WJ grinds now
Smokey used to have hundreds of crane cams in boxes all over the shop
doubt he paid for any of them ;D

I have a billion rounds on their cams and springs. I really don't want to switch brands if I can help it.

didn't crane supply blanks to a lot of other manufacturers? or is that way back in the day and no longer true now?

Not sure what Crane did, all I know is I have three cams go bad in a very short period of time. And I also had a few friends that had the same problem. This was back in the late 80's, I just started using Comp and Crower and never had a problem.

Re: Crane Cams to be Auctioned

hell , I ran a paw .450 lift duntov 30-30 ripoff in an sbc , never had any trouble
80s sbc lifter bores were machined wrong - gave me fat paychecks doing cam changes

I never had a problem with there products, they sponsored a couple different project we have had at the shop like the Mopar Muscle Build Off. They supplied the cam for that motor and was looking to do more with us this year..
