Hang in there Grumpy! You're not alone for sure. Everything I have on board this crate I came in either doesn't work or it leaks or it hurts when it wants to. This thread should be an eye opener to all the young buck hotshots who can RUN straight up a flight of stairs wide open and not realize what they have. In time, their time in the pit area is coming too. They just don't believe it. I know I sure didn't (believe it).

Being further down the road than many I can assure you things could be worse - and will be!

Every day I wake up and don't see roots is a bonus so I might as well enjoy each one.

What kind of eye surgery? I've had several go-rounds with that and really it wasn't too bad and the results were better than a red and white cane so I'm happy to have had it.

Whatever happens GET the surgery for aging maladies. My Dad had eye surgeries in his 70s that kept him sighted the rest of his life. In his 80s he had a hernia. The Doctors said surgery at his age would be too expensive and risky so they just tucked him back in and told him to be careful. The hernia popped in and out several times as he lived on to 97. His last year it popped out permanently, leaving him on a liquid diet and totally miserable. I'm certain if he would have had the surgery he would have passed 100 easily. Don't let anyone talk you out of surgery as an elder.

Having had metal pulled out of my eyes three times I can tell you eyes heal pretty quickly. I really wanted to do a race we have /had here in Indy that was a run up the steps of I think our highest skyscraper. I think with my knees , I waited too late. I thank God I can still walk any where I want to go. ( and as far )

BS (no pun intended). I can still do all the things I did when I was 20....it just takes me a little longer to make everything work.
