        I cannot relate to 40 years of marriage.
        I did have to watch my mom go away after being unplugged.
        She was frowning, where the pain left off.. only went to silence of peace.

        These threads.
        To go that long, carry on .. there is no way she could leave entirely.

          So sorry to hear that. I lost my mother to cancer many years ago. I know how hard it is.

                  GFogg I can feel your pain and only hope that you have family to rally around. I've been walking this path that you are beginning for 5 years now, it will not be an easy one. I still miss and love my wife as much today as I ever did. Like you...... I was blessed to have had 30 yrs together. I can only suggest you stay active and find that thing that will give you purpose, for me it was finding great new friends(more like family) here from Power Tour. My heart felt condolences to you.

                      You have our sincerest condolences. Dad and Grandpa both lost their wives with many years of their own left to go. A tough road to be given.

                              Lost my wife in 2009 after twenty years she was only 42 and it was a long year leading up to it, echoing what Big Dave said. I'm sencirely sorry for your loss, you'll be in our prayers.
