Any parts I've bought, its been OK. Tried to sell my 61 Bubbletop twice on eBay. Each time the winning bidder was some guy that just wanted to exchange emails, ask questions and generally waste my time.

Paul bought what he thought was a 1969 Mach 1 and when we got it from the trailer and ran the VIN it turned out to be a 1969 Mustang GT.... figure there were over 77k Machs built and only 4085 GTs it turned out to be a good buy haha. To bad the car blew a head gasket and was just a pain to work on.

I found my Centurion on E-bay, it was only a couple hours away so I figured I'd might as well go and look at it first, so maybe that doesn't count. When I called the guy on it though he had just driven the car without oil effectively ruining the bottom end so he cut the price by more that 50% ;D That's just dumb luck though.
                Escaped on a technicality.

I got my Dakota on Ebay - sort of. There was some sort of scam by a potential "buyer" and Ebay dropped the ad. Fortunately, the seller and I had exchenged contact info, and we got together on it. It wasn't a DF steal, but was a sweet truck and EXACTLY what I wanted - extended cab with room for the dog, trailer package (never used before I did) and a 5.2 so it has plenty of poop to tow the car trailer. It was in FL near my Mom's place, so we went down, had a visit w/Mom, and drove both the Buick (wife's car) and the Dak home. The guy was very nice and it worked out well.

                  So, a good experience

I bought my '67 Camaro on ebay. Sort of. The car didn't sell so I contacted the seller & we made a deal. My mistake was not going & looking at it. I would not have bought it. At least not for what I paid for it. Two or three of the other PT guys on here that were closer offered to go take a look but I didn't want to put them out. I just didn't have the time. Likewise with going to get it. So I had a friend that hauls for a living pick it up for me. He called from there with eyes on it & said that "he wouldn't buy it" & almost got into a fight with the guy & I just said "give him the check & bring it home & I will fix whatever it needs. I already had a $1,000 deposit on it. I knew full-well that it could cost me more to get it "right" & it cost me about twice that to do it. But I didn't want to give the jerk the satisfaction of scamming me for a grand. Yeah, I can be that way. By the time that I got it mostly right we ended up having to take the Silverado SS on PT & I was so fed up with the car that I traded it to a guy for a '63 Belair. Which I did look at but after the next years PT I was so fed up with it that I sold it. And vowed to never buy a car built by someone that I was not familiar with again.
