  • Never say never

In 2009 I thought I was done driving a truck for a living. 70+ hours a week and getting up at 2 AM got old but this job pays way too well to pass up.
I should double my yearly income this year.

I'm just about done with training and then I'll be on my own driving the 80,000 pound bomb.

Congrats man! Our naturally deceased neighbor in South Carolina, he hauled fuel all of his working life. There are lots of safe ways to do it. Double the income....holy whoppers! Sounds like Christmas at Christmas! Good deal.

Any special reason they run a 10-wheeler with a pup trailer vs. a day cab with a longer trailer? Just curious if it was a local law or company preference.

I would assume manouverability in small stations?

Exactly. Some of these gas stations are VERY tight!

What do run, about 8000 gallons to get in at 80,000?

                        You have fun driving that!

My never say never was to be seen driving a Geo Metro. Well my sister gave me her 92 Metro, damn her!

8,600 and has 4 compartments, two on the truck and two on the trailer.

Well, so much for haulin' gas! That's ok, this was one of the worst companies I've ever worked for. The owner cares more about his fancy-ass trucks than his drivers.

I went and got my old job back at Praxair hauling liquid nitrogen. I drove for these guys from 1998 to 2003 and was a great job, hopefully still is.
