Everybody has their favorite brand, but none is better than another.
They all have their good and bad points.
Every town has a fast car and it could be any brand.
One year,long ago a 74 Javlin came rolling in town with an Olds 455 under the hood and it was the fastest, it took a drag car with fake plates on the street to finally beat it.
One year it was a 67 fastback mustang until a 9 second in the 1/8,67 Camaro with %100 traction showed up and intimidated everybody with popping the front wheels off the ground thanks to a set of big block springs and a small block.
This made the stang do a 1/8 mile burn out on take off and losing!!!
There all good and don't get me started on the Mopars, there wicked, when one comes around it stays around for along time at the top!!!!

Hey Henry I got a 78 Impala coupe looks almost like yours,no LS1 though just a stock 350 with Quadrajet,I really love that car.

Awesome! May I see some pics please? What are all the details (where and when did you get it, what made you buy it, how many miles are on it, any plans for it etc.) ?

Yeah Matt.... I hear ya... but... there I was, and then... and she said... oh hell you get the picture...

The one thing that was said in the fray there was "WE GET TO PICK"... Simply stated Assholes aren't required and often aren't desired...

There is a fine line between Passion and thin skin.... Type A and simple Jerk... best to let the powers that be "filter"... but letting them know they need to is absolutely our place and requirement.

One of the things I've done on an e-mail list is require that we be polite to each other... disagree politely if you must... but if you really have something negative to say... do it off the site.

It's not worked all the time... but it's been pretty good.

d_t, that other forum (after HR) has been quite a soap opera for some time now. With DF and Chad at the helm I don't see this place going in the crapper anytime soon. The simple fact that with the diversity of interests among the members and no bickering going on speaks volumes about the character(s) who've signed up so far.

I think a lot of us already know eachother (or of eachother) which helps.I gotta be honest though. Anymore, it feels like non-millionaire car guys with dirt under their nails who've actually been to a junk yard (not online) is a niche unto itself.

I guess we're in the honeymoon phase. Eventually the political idealogues, the attention whores, and the trolls will start to filter in. It's inevitable. I certainly don't envy the job of moderating a board like this one bit.

I find myself here more than the "other" forum we went to after HR screwed the pooch just because of this :
