  • Day in the woods

Elbe Hills is an OHV park that's owned by the State of Washington and encourages rampant and wonton driving in an off-road setting.
Some pictures of rampant and wonton

Elbe (elle bee) is a mostly train town that does tourist trains during the summer - it was out meeting point

Once at the park, mud was properly applied

directions were given to the Jeep guy (whose streak of breaking nothing came to an unfortunate end with a transmission getting a stick through it on the highway home...)

twas a nice day - our fearless leader was a local in an FJ... you might recognize his rig from the snow pictures

he got stuck, hummers were employed and pictures taken

Of course, karam being a b*tch - payback came around the corner

a mirror and perhaps a chinaman knocked off a dock in China were the only casualties... was a deep hole, but the badness was that root you see by the rear wheel. Had it not been there, this would have been easy.

    a tight squeeze

and airing up at the end of the day
Doing it all wrong since 1966

        nice to see.
I gave up the mud decades ago.
I hit the trails just right, slick shallow mud and/or frozen..then avoid till May.

this is today.. about an hour ago.
highway tread back to clean and 120 mph capable. I did learn from mud.

nothing gets through without breaking something.
A giant subaru something and v8 would be an awesome animal however...
those mercedes with the strange axle ends, no pumpkin dangle..
forgot what they called them. those would be awesome.

get real. mud is older than all our toys.

I didn't post sooner because I'm so damn jealous!

Loren, gotta cross the puddles to get to the other side!
A person can go miles on trails tkie these and come out miles away from where you went in..
Popular choice here is offroad over the coast range and come out on the coast, Go eat sea food then go back over the highway..
