they do seem to be a little inconsistent on how they enforce the rules but then there are over 30,000 members so some stuff does slip through the cracks and with that many personalities there's bound to be some toes stepped on now and then.
Actually it's 72,319 Members (with 290,186 threads and 3,525,423 posts).
They are very inconsistent on how they enforce rules and many, many toes are stepped on all the time !!
I'm a member and have had an issue or two but overall it can be very informative. It's good to know why or how things were done in the past IMO.
As for overall content I get more out of speedtalk.com but it's the internet.... most sites have there issues, ya get what ya pay for.
There are very few people in this world who's opinion I value, you are not one of them.
I like the Hamb for tech stuff and their picture threads but I am not a big fan of the "if its not traditional, its crap" mindset. I wonder what they would think about a single turbo straight axle car.....

It would be okay as long as you had period correct hair grease, your pants rolled correctly, and a pair of shoes not made after '62
I spend quite a bit of time on the HAMB. Haven't had any problems yet. I like some of their ideas. Check out the Friday Art Show. Some amazing work!! Also the auctions that help support the place are something that would be nice here.
ohio george and the mallicoats ran turbos and straight axles in the day
Got any pics? I know there were some people than ran turbos back then but on the Hamb they don't seem to care because it wasn't done by a bunch of people lol.
The HAMB deal, well it's their deal. I like the amount of respect they have for the old school guys who pioneered what we enjoy today, but the snob factor is bit much for me. The rockabilly wannabe tough guy thing, is where the posing becomes very apparent. That's why I like what goes on here, posing I believe is damn near nonexistent. Cept' for me :D My chebbie will never run...
please forgive my ignorance but what is a soup nazi?
Sure, we are happy to forgive your ignorance (just kidding) :D
The Soup Nazi was a character on TV comedy series Seinfeld, who sold excellent soup, but would not sell it to people he didn't like or who did not follow his strict purchase instructions. Here is a YouTube clip, that gives you the lowdown;
