  • auto inspections - state level

    interesting article, and the comments.
I remember the fake stickers from the 80s early 90s.
I never played...ran like hell from here.

the decay was so fast in 5 years, owners would just be going free and clear titles, no more payments..
for a pile of garbage that was once a new vehicle, sitting in the yard.

I admit inspections are crammed into my head like a military crew chief..
and there is life and death.
I drove a whole year on a pancaked balljoint, no clue. A garage found it.
    I like the inspections..
the surprise of needs after one, is the frustration.

so maybe being prepared is the lessons needing taught, it covers everything.
I had joked after buying my truck..
the only thing I do not do is lower balljoints.
    sure enough...

I further got thinking on this..
from an aircraft inspectors point of view.

I feel a vibration to a car starting here.. I know it is inline and more than four cylinders by my own ears.
I finally look out the window after 2 years random of this..

    the neighbors bimmer.
    bent crank.

the same bald runt with the bass kicker music with complaints all the way to a sheriff office.
The word "anti" and in a human flesh is thought to be mythical..
I have never seen anyone this close in my entire life.
every move is hurting at something or someone.
    anyway..

that is something missing in the inspection world.

imagine pointing some infra something frequency analyzer at a machine, it will tell you rust is too far, engine bent, tranny, even axles... and of course decibels.
    future thinking.

I remember the rare encounter with a bad jet engine.. wow.
Bimmer I-6 may be the last chance to ever hear a bad rotation in modern times.

I was pleasantly surprised when I moved to a place that did not require State Inspection. I thought the road would be full of falling apart cars as a result, but that has not been the case. I suppose "The South" is not nearly as hard on cars as the wintry, salty "North".

        same steel.
        the fail is electric..
nothing to do with north or south.

in fact, north could gain 110000 pound rails in a pickup from a few choice welds.

the south would have to wait until the ice age to gain the same.

ups and downs, its all mixed up.

my last tuck just purchased, tougher for some reason.

I finally look in the fuse box, and there is 5 less than the same model with an automatic.
no daytime running circuit due to frequent use of parking brake, and no auto lever in the dash.

as it turns out, just the clutch safety switch shuts down the truck to no bleed...

        hence the trick:
        I bought a "tough" truck.

was just looking for $5k and under for my dad..
nothing in maine to do 10000 pounds towing for that price.
one would have to go find a southern baby to reduce price, clean body.

        total shame..

the inspection sticker thing just adds to frustration.
I get a real one, never cheat it.
        ..it does cost sometimes.
        especially balljoints.
