Good to know I'm not the only one that house paints his cars...
You got bigger balls doing it on a street car/truck..

heh...I didn't paint the truck with house paint...it was owned by a house painter when we got it, within a year of this photo, I had stripped all the paint and primed it.

FYI, pressure washer takes 99% off!
We use house paint for girl's rooms.. Once while getting paint, the clerk said "You must really love your daughter"
I say that I do, but why did she say that
She says all the pink paint I bought..(3gallons for 2 cars and touch up)
I say "Oh she has her own home now, this is for her car"
Clerk was aghasted.. "this ain't car paint"
          Lol

when you can barely afford paint stripper, a pressure washer just isn't in the picture

Mostly in the low 15s at that time, I think We got it down to the low 14s with some other changes the following year...gears, slicks, cam, etc. It was a fun time, I started college in fall 1979, and got a part time job at a junkyard. All my money besides food went to gas and go fast parts.

Sweet lookin 58. I would have thought it would be faster than it was? There was a guy in my town that used a roller and house paint on his 68 Impala. He would put a new coat and color on every other year.

Jim, you're STILL drag racing in the late 70's! And making it work.

About what you'd expect for something like that in the late 70s. Cool picture.
