  • RIP Prince

I just heard a couple minutes ago he died in his home at the age of 57. My wife said his jet had to make an emergency landing a few days ago because he was I'll.

I wasn't sure big fan but I did see him in concert once, he put on a phenomenal show.

WOW. I'm a year older than that. I think I should hurry up and have as much fun as possible. RIP Prince.

          quite a character.
I did love some guitar solo..
1980s. it may have been purple rain.
lines drawn to what we love, only shows us more who we are.

even my mom was musically tougher than prince..gentle blue eyed big voice.
shed died in 1992, on this day.

I doubt purple will be used again for much...except a military medal...maybe a dodge.

blue eyes crying in the purple rain.
          never gonna happen.
We had lots of jokes about prince.

I could only guess portuguese as very american.
          one of a kind.

He was really our generations Jimi Hendrix but he was stuck in the funk genre. How can you not love little red corvette?

His co star in Purple Rain, Vanity died a week or so ago and there was a death hoax on social media just after Vanity died, so I think the family knew this was coming, he just did not stop long enough to get well.

              Looked up the "Purple motorcycle"
Since Prince was only 5'2" tall.. A Harley couldn't be used.
              Honda 400A...

Hardly. When the guy soloed he was an asskicking ROCK GOD. His whole appeal was his masterful mixing of styles. Stuck in the funk genre? You didn't listen to him.

I hate to see anyone go so young (from my perspective). Anyone hear what the cause was? Either way I hope those who loved him can come to some peace over his passing.

Wow, that was sudden. Apparently he was hospitalized last week for complications from severe influenza.

I was looking forwards to reading his memoirs.....they were due to be published next year.

                    Amazing guitar player.

Yes, that was largely overlooked, or not promoted enough. He was good as hell. He was right there with the best of them.

Vanity died in Feburary also at the age of 57. I remember seeing purple rain as a young teen and the girl I was with balled after that purple rain performance. Surely a icon on a different level than MJ. I don't know how you couldn't live his music but to each his own. Gone to soon. He did his last two shows here in ATL, too bad I missed out.

Another who "had it all" but decided to end it all by a drug overdose
The influenza was actually a drug overdose,..

No way of knowing yet, I've heard everything from AIDS to the flu to OD. We'll know when the official word comes out.
