I once read a story about a guy who had an engine fire; apparently he somewhat calmly cut a heater hose and sprayed down the flames. I'm not sure I'd have that presence of mind.
I once had an engine fire and a friend put it out with a can of Coke... after shaking it up real good first.
The next morning when I popped the hood to start working on it, it was covered with bees !!
:o
I drove a car to the junkyard to scrap it, and when I pulled in the yard it had a fire under the hood. I popped the hood, poured my soda on it, then walked in the office and handed them the keys.
Is it bad that I scrapped a car that was driveable? Seems that is against the rules somehow.
Thanks guys truck is insured doesn't seem to be to bad though wiring, wiper motor, paint bonnet and firewall, vacuum lines for turbos, throttle and cruise control cables, front air bag lines, front spoiler ( tow cable on the tilt tray killed it),shifter cable and the plastic fittings for the gas kit so wouldn't take that much to fix it anyway. P.S bees ? he he he
