  • There is no better feeling in the world

than being behind the wheel of your own automobile
Especially when you paid zero to fix her
but it did cost $43 to fill her up on the way home (which was actually the first time I have ever gotten to say fillerup at a gas station)
Rumors of my demise by rollover have been greatly exaggerated.

Need more info - and PICS!!!!!

Glad it's moving under it's own power. How did you get the repairs for free? I'm assuming this refers to the Eagle?

      Yeah, the wagon
      However, I sense a problem.
I decided to check my oil, just in case, and when I pulled it out, there was almost nothing on the dipstick, I wiped it off, put it back in, and it was full, but had what looked like metal stuff on it in the oil

See the thread about Seth's Chevelle for a preview of coming attraction with respect to metal in the oil.

              this will not end well

Toad, when was the last time the oil/filter was changed?

grab a camera, snap some pics, and post up over in projects.

Well, she was run low on oil to move her, could it just be from that?

                Edit?
Well, my dad just looked at it, said it is sludge particles he thinks. I will change my oil tomorrow, as I have nothing to do, and it is already getting dark here

Save some of the oil so you can take a picture to post.

                    I will
THe particles are black, if that helps ID anything

Re: There is no better feeling in the world

Sludge........see TC's plea for timely oil changes.

If it's metallic, there's no mistaking it for common sludge......most drain plugs are magnetic, study it when you pull it to drain(remember to get the engine up to operating temp first.......don't whine, hot oil only burns for so long, and besides, it builds character)

Might not be a bad idea to cut the old oil filter open(drain it first, hell of a mess and yer Pop wil kick yer ass up between yer eyeballs)....pull out the media and study it.

You can find out all sorts of interesting things if you know what to look for.

Document your work, and post up for us to help you figure out what you're dealing with.

And it gets worse, I drove her to my friends house, and found out neither my headlights or taillights work

                            *sighs*

You remind me of my own 18-year-old son......smart as a whip, but anything automotive, gotta hold his hand, too.

ALWAYS check your lights/signals/fluids before heading out on a first drive(not a bad idea for anytime before you get behind the wheel)

                            check your fuses, kiddo......report back.

Headlights will be fixed first thing tomorrow morning
two wires that looked like they were connected, were not connected. I just need a wire connector, it should fix my clock too
