  • lobster boat races - rockland maine

did not get a good recording today.

here is a video from 2008

here is my short clip from today.. a boat named thunderbolt.

    sound was hellacious.
was low throttle leaving the harbor.
it is very civilized today. marine patrol, coast guard standing by.
    rules to follow etc.

shamed we did not have a bigger boat to hang out there.. we had to come back in to rough seas.
    little silverline.
    here is another one..2015.

this is somebody elses clip of the elusive thunderbolt from 2015.

    my take on this...
a cat 3412 done my way, with a sharper prop

Thunderbolt is definitely a neat boat. Hot Rods on water.

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

        that crowd has faded away.
        late 1980s or so.
it is beyond paul bunyan legends.

        there is some wild tales..

the lobster you eat today is very regulated from lobster pounds mostly.
That old level of work makes the women cry anyway.

like old school truckers at 18 cents a mile... only at the dangerous sea.

maine can thrash a silent harbor, as if to be a few miles out... less than a mile from land.

I only had my small lense as well, had no clue they were racing yesterday, we were out in the little silverline testing out the little mercury 50hp.
