  • Nelson Racing Engines 1650 HP RX7

This is must see, you won't believe this car, even for an import.
Some road video of this crazy 427ci small-block, twin turbo, dual injected, ultimate sleeper.
It is a bit of marketing, but worth watching the awesome power in this tiny, really scarry and very fast car.
WARNING - Some bad language !

    Video (9:56) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KB1Wrv0SiyQ

I thought the rear camera mounting system using a glass puller was a pretty cool idea too.

I love SBC swapped imports, but I don't get the 16 injector thing.

and MAN would I love to see it at the track, running that elusive 8 second pass!

8 injectors will support 2100hp and perfect drivability. Still confused.

maybe he saved money with used injectors ?
I remember ryan falconer used 2 inj per cyl on the turbo v6 in hendrick gtp vette
maybe the second bank is for nos ?
t/f uses injectors in the hat and next to the plug

Does anyone have video of his cars at the track? Just curious what kind of times they put down.

in a top fuel car though, the nozzels don't have as much do do with how much fuel is flowing as they do with the pressure. thats the job of the pump.

from what I understood him say, the second set of injectors is for the second tank and pump setup which turns on at wot

                        I think you are correct.
It had something to do with mixing 116 octane fuel from the 8-gallon fuel cell, with the 91 octane from the 22-gallon fuel cell.

Falconer did it with dual nozzles because there were no decent large injectors available back then. Bigger injectors with good spray patterns came out about the same time as color TV spidey ;)

I like the idea of secondary fuel - we've done that on a few local cars (there's a neat one in the works, I'm sure it'll be in the magazine at some point). But, it's a LOT easier to add supplemental fuel with a couple upstream injectors (alky, race gas, whatever) than to go through the trouble of dual rails, pumps, regulators right on the intake. Plus, the system he's using has a clumsy method for staged injectors. It doesn't allow them to phase in while the others are turned off; so you're running a mix of race gas and pump gas in quantities that you can't control consistently. I'd like to see some dyno/AFR charting, and mostly I'd like to see at least one of these supermotors that make more power than they have turbo, on a track running 8s, 7s, etc. (as advertised).
