    I like the storm shelter...far better to be self-sufficient instead of having to run somewhere...I presume there's some-sort of means (jacks etc.) to get the door open if the building and that tree etc. all wind up on top of it?

      You can install a jack to open it if there is an obstruction, but I do not have one yet. The neat thing is, the Lat/Log of the shelter is recorded and sent to the emergency folks to keep on file. It gives them a location to search first in the event a tornado blenders the entire neighborhood.

        A lally column and a bottle jack is the poor mans way to have a way to jack 2 tons of crap to open the door if needed. ..

        Just throwing it out there..
