  • Shipping Parts

I just sold some wheels to bb70duster,thought maybe this info would help others.
I tried to get him the lowest cost shipping. What I found out is that FedEx,UPS,and USPS are about the same price.
Ended up with DHL,much cheaper than others, and faster than UPS by 24 hrs.from me to him.Hope this helps.

Grayhound works real well for very large packages too. WAY cheaper then any of the others.....way cheaper.

And they understand the term "Handle With Care" Fenders and windshields theres no better way.

I have a few bad experiences with UPS. They used to be a lot better. How do you bust an iron cylinder block in normal shipping, packed in a solidly-built wood crate?

          Re: Shipping Parts

Last year I was selling quite a few parts......set of heads off of my big block.
          I ended up using DHL.
The thing I most liked about them was after I set up an account..... I pay online.. print
off the mailing label and they picked the item up from my front porch.
It's sort of weird as I tried to weigh the items or guess at it and they never once check
the package. One time I know I was about 10 lbs over weight and they never adjust the charge.
          Their rates were normally cheaper.
Everything made it in good shape........the only caveat to this is I've never had
to file a claim, so I'm not sure how good they would be in this area.

UPS can split a titanium anvil encased in Lucite wrapped in Kevlar.

Check out a website called UNITED PACKAGE SMASHERS for reports from the field. :o

I can vouch for that. I worked for UPS for almost 15 years. Iv'e seen things get broke that couldn't be broken if someone was trying... :o
