But I'd also like to see them standing outside in a regular thunderstorm, frequently, so they don't exaggerate and say dumb things like "the wind is really picking up" during hurricane coverage when we can clearly see (from the trees behind them) that it is no windier than a regular thunderstorm.

Editorial: Fake news has been going for years. During the 70's, a girl I had gone to school with went to college in France for one year. Her parents were shocked to see her one night on ABC at a student protest against US policies. They called her later to ream her out, and she said "Oh, daddy - I was a paid extra in a movie".
