The world just changed.... did you notice?

Great thing about it being a up hill race is when the batteries are discharged you can still go like 27 miles .

The wing creates more downforce than the car weighs.

          2400 lbs. with 4 x 170hp electric motors and a 43 kWhr battery pack
For comparison, it weighs less than half of a Tesla model S

          That's amazing engineering right there.

The article stated that there was an electric motor on each axle.
Did you find some technical specifications that state there is an electric motor on each wheel ?

This is not unusual. For decades, Formula 1 and Indy car teams have reported that their aero packages would enable the cars to literally run upside down.

Yep, and that's when the enormously hairy steel balls come into play. Just sling that thing into there and know (or at least believe and trust) that it will actually stick. What a scary concept actually - oh NO I'm all of a sudden not going fast ENOUGH to make it through this next corner.

I, of course, found the part about the dual drivetrain Golf breaking the rear diff just short of the finish interesting.

There is video of the start on a practice day. You can see smoke coming from the front and rear tires.

But those cars only weigh 1,590 pounds, not 2,425 pounds like the veedub.
