Not yet, but I think it's a blast. I'll retire at the end of the year and my 'vacation' time will be totally up to my discretion, so it's on my list.
Talk with Allen (CSTMWGN) or Lars (htrdharley) for their experience with it.Ed, Mary, & 'Earl'

IF you can believe what you read on Wikipedia, early industry was logging to help rebuild Chicago after the Great Fire. After the forest was removed farming began along with trying to control/manage the flow of the Mississippi River. Eventually the steel industry moved in and from what I can see, is still there even if it's not as large as it once was. They still have the Delta Gateway Museum downtown. The next time I'm there I will visit that.

After talking to the gate-keepers (I want to say a name but I thoroughly SUK at names, faces I got forever, names not-so-much) I did some Google Map surfing and found the nice houses. I know how to get there but didn't take the time on Sunday morning. As best I can tell, the bridge goes over the railroad. If they found a need AND funding for that bridge, I'd think the rail line is regularly active. I remember when we used to have to stop at the rail line coming out of the Ford plant and the yard close to it....the main line to Nashville.....a bridge over that nothing keeps a LOT of traffic flowing.
