  • Should Cars Be Forced To Display Event Sponsors?

Another Lights Out observation. All those Neal Chance cars running PTC stickers. Isn't it enough for Brian Lohnes to say your name 3,647 times? At least Rocket Fuel fills the tanks for free on Drag Week.

Stickers for stuff DIFFERENT from what you're running?

Hey, now - Neal Chance is Wichita racing royalty. What's the problem?

yeah? really? have you ever been on Drag Week? Nobody is giving us free gas. Unless you win the Spirit of Drag Week award, that is.

Neal Chance is doing great. Most of the fastest cars seemed to be running his parts. But what the post is about is since PTC Converters sponsored the event everyone had to display PTC stickers. It's as if every car at the NHRA US Nationals would have to display Chevy emblems.

Drag Week cars have to display the banner with the Gear Vendors logo, and now Dodge is there, also. some guys not so keen on the Dodge thing. I switched to a Mopar last year, so I guess the sponsorship worked!

and GV gave me a free unit in 2014, as a drawing at the awards ceremony, and also a $1000 off discount on another one when I won the class the next year. So I'm quite cool with advertising for them.

O.K. Visual Aid. This guy set a World Record. When interviewed he said it was because of his Chance Convertor.

There have been shows where they hand us stickers, or rather small banners, to put on our cars and got heck for not using them.

Event sponsors are necessary to keep entry fees somewhat reasonable. Unless it was a product that I have a moral objection to, I'm not against having to run the stickers. It's just part of the show. If I had a serious objection to an event sponsor, I'd run somewhere else before I'd run a sticker that would "corrupt the youth of Athens." But that's just me.. I also wouldn't run if they made me cover my Team [Censored] stickers. http:[censored]
