Just slightly similar. They made it slab-sided without coves. It is in the same style as the retro-T-Birds. One beer short of a 6-pack.Last edited by oletrux4evr; February 25, 2019, 07:28 PM.Ed, Mary, & 'Earl'

They remind me of the little Humble Oil-sponsored kid-drive cars they had at Six Flags in the late '60s . . . About half of the cars were knockoffs of a "My Mother the Car" open touring car (early '60s leftovers from the opening of the ride) and the rest were newer, pint-sized, loose copies of Stingrays (which if memory serves they called "Chaparrals") .
I guess all the "whimsical" imitation-is-the-sincerest-form-of-flattery stuff from yesterday's "Studebaker" radio thread is now out the window . . . .
Given the price of real C2s in Japan, these little bugs sort of fit under the PT Cruiser school of relatively cheap copies . . . .
It could be worse. . . . they could be out killing whales and de-finning sharks.
Americans have had their own flirtation with expensive retro body kits . . . .

We had some piped-in sound back in the old days . . . . (That might even be HAMB-approved!)You can tell it's Mattel.. it's swell. Great retro toy commercial.
