It seems for me that you having fun hunting that rats down but iа I were you I'd used human privilege in technical advantage and get this thing and don't give a damn. (As I've already done, actually) But I surely dislike all those humane traps, poisonous bites, etc. The just doesn't really work.
Also, I hate even looking at rats not even saying about touching them so I like that fact that they're just avoiding my home now.
