I have it predicted already. might get some 30 belows here.
the last I saw this routine was snow on an october 7th.. almost 30 years ago.
single digits in the daytime on thanksgiving
a guy named tom schymanski was the weather man losing his mind slowly by january.
lagrange maine had 36 below.
all the diesel furnaces quit
everything quit. it was still carburetor on everything.
anyway,
we've had our frost... the autumn is going from green to dead. That happens often here, and it sucks everytime.
with the climate change stuff, it must be a warmer version than 30 years ago.. hard telling. the sun is a big hing to be spinning around.
there is also no chernobyl storm spinning at the poles either...Last edited by Barry Donovan; October 1, 2019, 04:32 PM.Previously boxer3main

I overseeded the front yard yesterday. Temp was 88. Watering it about every 4 hours through the day. 91 today. Usually when I overseed I can get away with watering once or twice a day.Ed, Mary, & 'Earl'

Normally we get a windstorm in mid-late November that kicks off the winter weather (with a week of no power)... next week it may come (and if not that one, there's one behind it). Soooo I got the generator out, fired it up (thanks again DB for the always-use-stabil advice), fired up the chainsaws (chains are sharp when put away), de-watered the outside lines, filled the water jugs.... time to reset the car kits (first aid, survival gear for SAR), and I'm ready...
This year, I'm buying a back-up, large generator so I can work in the shop .... tractor isn't done yet but I did cut the 'expected by' date ....
