  • Car parts as home decor

Judd needed a headboard for his full size bed. Julie kept looking at different ones and I jokingly said we should use a hood.

Today the topic came up again and I said there was a red 70 Chevelle hood on FB Marketplace. Surprisingly, she did not immediately veto the idea and only commented that it was probably not wide enough.

I googled the width and it was perfect. I messaged the guy and went and picked it up for $50. I brought it home, washed it off and put it in his room. Color os darn near perfect and the patina is great.

my wife is similar - but she's also a mechanical engineer so I shouldn't be terribly surprised.

No car parts are a permanent part of the decor in the house. Rock n Roll gear is semi-OK.

He is 16 and if he manages to dent it, well, I might just high five him.
