  • Anyone collect stamps?

I came across a envelope that was mailed 90 years ago with a red Washington 2 cent stamp.

I how to I tell if it's trash, or funding my race program? Quick search and it looks like people are asking pennies to thousands.

My dad saved hundreds of stamps like that...that don't have any value. You want some more?

There are a very few old stamps that are worth something.

Old letters (what would have been in the envelope) can be interesting, especially if they are letters that were worth saving all this time.

Very interesting. As for its value I have no clue. I do know that since it is canceled the value drops.Still the date on the envelope shows how old it is and that could increase the value. I am sure there are websites where philatelists congregate. Check out some of these and see what those folks have to say about it.

ID:	1256774If dad had managed to save the envelopes, and the letters inside, instead of just the stamps, then this would have been a treasure trove. But as a 10 year old boy in the 1940s, he sure didn't see the future very well.

There was nothing in the envelope. I do know the difference between list price and sale price. Move the decimal over 4 or 5 spaces?

you might want to do a LOT of research on what makes some stamps valuable, and most of them worthless.
