    I will always now wonder about Pontiac oiling because of that one an Okie bought from that Butler guy eating main bearings. I think Big Chief was just buzzing it a bit too high. Then the Crow Mod got parked.

        the 3.25" mains on pontiacs dont help, means high bearing speeds.
        on the other hand it makes a really strong crank...

          That's why the SBC MP racers used to love the 2 bolt main blocks with the small journals. Forged 283 crank and ALL the RPM.
