Any of you who are old enough to shave are likely to have, at some point read a car magazine article written by Pat Ganahl. Well, he's kind of retired, but is doing a BLOG, but he will only continue to do so if he gets enough subscribers to make it worth the time it takes to do the research, find all the pics, and compose the whole deal, so have a look, and there's a SUBSCRIBE box at the bottom of the page.......

In other words, only if he has enough folks, so the blogging platform is paying him for content.
Cool that he is still doing it, whom ever he is/was.

If you don't know who Pat is or what he's done for the hobby... You are not a car guy.

Sometimes Stude is a little harsh.

But yes, Pat is a real hard-core car guy of the highest order. I hope you'll look into his history a bit - he is, from all I've heard, the real deal and a decent guy.

didnt think you were wrong either, in fact that was
the first thing through my mind when i read the
"whoever he was or is" quote--cant possibly be
                    a real car guy.

honestly, saying whos ganahl would be just like
saying whos baskerville, whos collison, whos freiburger,
whos finnegan, whos brulle, whos dulcich.....

i mean, i get that not EVERYTHING gets to other places...
but even here in hawaii i know who chico kodama is.

me thinks you may be right. but then again i been hit
in the head a lot, so what do i know.

im pretty sure that to real car guys, ganahl is legendary.

                      I
Well. I guess. I'm not worthy of this hobby.
I'm sure you all know of the big names in every other country???. RIGHT!!!!
Guess ,no point of planning to do the power tour ,as I'm not enough of a car GAL.
to be worthy of being part of any event in your country.
Good thing the Plane tickets are not bought yet.

Notice , this Dan basically said Stude was not right . And I have no idea who Kodama is . Trust me , there are real car guys that think guys that buy car magazines are dreamers and not does. If you want to do the power your, do the tour . I did one stretch in 2003 , one in 2004 and a full tour in 2005 . It was fun but I seriously don't understand why some people do it every year , or even more than twice . But I'm not going to fault them for it . We're all different .

Eric, don't be so sensitive. I've been lucky enough to travel all over the world and work in several countries, meeting all types of people. One thing I discovered, is every country has it's share of elitism. There are a lot of us that admire your plan to do the Power Tour, from a different country, which is not easy.

funny, I had to google him and I guess I know of him but I couldn't point to a thing I've done which was influenced by him.. What is that saying "history is written by the victors?" .... note that it isn't the writer who makes the history.... I guess that means I'm not a car guy either - at least not according to the media... you know, that makes me smile. Thanks Stude.

I concur ... a lot of the hardcore car guys I knew in high school, college and the Navy never bought magazines ... they were too busy spending their hard earned money on parts, gas, etc. and precious time on wrenching.
