Street Rods are part of the hobby that peak and wanes on a regular basis. We're in a valley now, so THIS. Post '49 uniqueness to curry interest. I await a '69 Camaro "Street Rod Of The Year" with less than positive anticipation. It will help the hobby as much as calling base model Buick Skylarks with factory drivetrains "Musclecars" did.

In a related story, nobody called "CadMad" a Street Rod, but there was much dismay when it took the Riddler Award in Detroit as even a "Hot Rod". IMHO it was quickly forgotten over the next few months and barely drew $300K at Barrett Jackson. Seriously, I expected a million out of it. Ultra concourse quality, big, heavy old cars, (Pro Hulk?) still have a ways to go I guess. My hobby is needing a hobby.
