I got a bit soured on the conversion with the problems they're having with cracked heads.

    • Cracked heads... I'm guessing this set is also, maybe not as they haven't been there long but with all the loose stuff on this thing there has been someone in there who hasn't put it all together properly.

      • and he's going to leave us in suspense about the heads.

if and when I do a 3800, I'm using the acquaintance in Florida - he supplies the 3800, so there's no guessing.

        • ZZP made Al heads for the 3800 SII/III at one point but when I checked their catalog yesterday there weren't there anymore. Maybe you can find a set floating around.

I thought you could get those from TA Performance.... hmmm... maybe not. I dunno, at this point if I do a 3800, it'll be for the Fiat.... I'm thinking at this point of using the Buick wagon as my race-tow-vehicle.

            • TA has bought out other Buick vendors product lines in the past so they might have taken it over. Haven't looked there.

                • sooooo.... the quick head job has grown

I agree with him, you can't leave it when you know about it.... with that motor, they had no idea what its oil usage and pressure was.... and it really could have been to their folly to put it together without checking...

                  • so they're all-outing the 3.8

in other news, the guy I am talking to about a 3800 here has come up with new, aluminum heads for the 3800.... I really want to run one of those... but right now, plate's full...

                        • More Kevin, at 15 minutes is where the action starts, it's a very boring tear down and no real fault found.

                          • it'd be cool if he collaborated with Kevin Yates Racing in Florida. They make aluminum heads for the 3.8.... and a lot more
