Just watching to see what the real "Gains" are.

I can live with the basics, got a car to the next rally stop on 2 square 6 volt flashlight batteries with the old points, condenser, coil system.
Don't think that trick will work with this new EFI stuff........

I got a car home with a solar panel....but this isn't that kind of car....

I don't really expect any "gains". Except that my wife starts driving the car again.

yeah, it was a blast driving it around the west coast. So many people actually think you can power a whole car with one solar panel!

Meanwhile....back on the Dart...almost done with the fuel lines, then time to see if I can fire it up.

If I can get her to drive it anywhere local, even I'll be happy. She used to drive it every day, in the 80s and most of the 90s.

And....won't run. It does run a little while it's cranking, then dies.

I'll play with it more in the morning.

After sleeping on it, I think I made a wiring error....I'll change it when I get going this morning, and see what happens.

That was it, I just connected the tach wire to the wrong place. Runs now. Better cold start, and idle speed control...need to go on a longer test drive.

The little control box thingy that you use to set it up has a dashboard sort of, so you can see neat things like coolant temp, rpm, afr, etc. Unfortunately finding a way to mount it in the car so it can be seen easily, might be difficult. It's pretty useless where I have it now, above the dash, mounted to the windshield with the flexible phone mount that came with the kit. Lots of glare.
