I like the rental car idea . At least the cops can't confiscate your car .

Well then the "World's fastest rental" is a bit out of context. According to Stude, they have a car (cars?) at Bonneville that they rent. Just sayin'.

Gotta wonder how the rental company felt about over 6,000 miles in less than a week.

No worries. Probably 'unlimited mileage' in the contract. Back in the day guys would rent Shelby Mustangs and race 'em over the weekend, if they didn't swap out drivetrains.

In a related story. ZL1s and Z06s OH MY!

Rental car agency Hertz, slammed by the steep drop in demand after the coronavirus pandemic shut down most U.S. travel, has been selling its rental cars at significant discounts since filing for Chapter 11 bank

they couldn't care less. rental car companies usually lease them or are on a buy-back program with the manufacturer - granted the poor sap who buys it later.... usually have brake caliper problems

I see that. I see what you typed. I would say I "heard" that, but we're only typing so I saw that. I predict you're only ruffled that a high dollar hopped up team-loaded whatever got outrun by a lowly Mustang, rented or not. I wasn't gonna say (type) that, but you instigated it.

not to put too fine a point on it, but "back in the day" should now probably be "Back in the Mesozoic era".... modern kids call Compact Disc "back in the day" and a bunch of them don't know what one is.

Back when lightbulbs were new and Baskerville was still writing for HotRod, I remember reading "Nothing is faster, stops quicker, turns harder, or off roads better than a rental"

                          carry on.
