  • So I Got a New Car

My dad and I restored this 1965 230SL back in the late 80's, he doesn't drive much anymore, so he handed it over to me.... Love this car, great memories...

How neat! The 230's were considered "best of breed" for some of the German guys I used to work with. Let's see more of it! There has to be at least one button or lever that will leave me guessing.

No need to swap the engine it's been rebuilt, in fact the whole car was rebuilt, at one time it was just a shell... I had to fix a leaking rear wheel cylinder and other than that I'm hoping all I have to do put a battery in it and and some fuel and start it up. Can't wait to drive it and go show it off, it is such a beautiful car.

Cool car. I have been eyeballing a 380SL as a possible project car. Mainly because I have never messed with one and they seem interesting.

Hope you're good with vacuum systems, all the locks are vacuum operated. I'm working on an '83 500SL right now. They are fun cars to drive though...

                            Those vacuum systems suck.

Tell me about it Dan, we ended up buying a smoke machine to find the leaks...
