How big can a small block be?

These days you can get big numbers in a small block ... like 427+

351 Ford aftermarket block 454 is one of the bigger ones I know of, but the Windsor has always had a tall deck.
Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

I think the largest I've seen in a magazine was 454 . And 8t was an aftermarket block .

In my mind it has everything to do with the casting size and nothing to do with how much bore and stroke you can squeeze into it.

should not be called small
I frequent the 350 group on facebook.. 406 is a common running number.
still not easy.
the LS builds, those go even bigger.
the small block bore spacing. it really does have limits.
I'd rather a 396 big than a 406 small.. but I am old and boring. Enjoy driving all day
