  • Who made a killing in the stock market Thursday?

I do NOT understand the stock market at all, okay? Just letting you know at the outset.

But I've had the giggles all day at all of the elites running around with their hair on fire because a bunch of nobodies took their lunch money.

It used to be one step of the SEC to
"Spot Buy Large amounts of Commodities"
to trigger a upsend, and cash out early in the afternoon before the Fall as a Set Up.....
Now Short Sell, and don't even Buy In, just start a fake frenzy on Social Media.......
        What could go wrong........LOL

It's taken Unit and me a couple days to research and read and try to learn about what happened and we still think we're about 50% clueless. What we think we know is that from now on the folks who run the hedge funds will really hate it whenever the feds send out stimulus checks because that's where lots of the "investment" money came from that ruined their smelly shell game. Is that far from accurate?

They are saylng this action by the little guys is 'turning Wall street into a casino'. I've got news for them.....it's ALWAYS been a casino. The real trick here is finding buyers who are willing to accept more risk than currently exists when it's time to sell.........when this run finishes, somebody will have a bunch of over-valued worthless 'paper'..........

I think it's all highly entertaining. And we put our money in stock mutual funds, not hedge funds....so it has no real effect on us.

My lifelong rocket scientist friend in Florida got on with a tech company years ago, a NASA subcontractor. Part of the hire-on incentive was a fat company stock package. Well, remember the bubble? That company's stock skyrocketed and tens of thousands of dollars turned into a million or two for the employees. But you could only withdraw 25% lump sum from the package once per year. They all hit it the first day they could. We went to see my friend down there, he was in what I would call a mansion on a canal near the cape with the boat to go with it. He said the company's parking lot was full of Porches and Ferraris. I'm talking fat and happy.

The bubble popped. Talk about a sell-off, nobody could make the payments on everything they had bought into. The company even laid off half of everybody and my buddy had to go back to living in the second world. Ahhhh well, we saw it, how the other half lives.

                      are you sure?
I had heard that some of the Mutual Funds purchase positions in the various hedge funds to help with their return on investment. I am hoping that it doesn't drag down my Mutual Funds but it is way to early to know for sure.

Can't be any worse than when Franklin Templeton Funds decided to invest 45% of their money into a fake gold mine in Africa, and lost it. I had a 5 year CD about to mature, and instead of making a grand in profit I got out less than what I put in. My "money manager" wouldn't even apologize. But the bank forced her to retire soon after...Too many angry customers.

I took what I had left, invested it in some eBay stuff and made a 400% profit within 2 years. WTH do the pros know?

We've done fine....if you look at the history of the stock market, over the long term, it does very well. And if you diversify enough, and don't play games with it, you'll pretty much be "the house", and always come out ahead. There are ups and downs, but we're batting about 800% profit over the long haul so far....

The whole situation shows how vulnerable it all is to a flash mob of small investors. I don't think the hedge fund people ever considered it a possibility or a threat. I think they do now. It is pretty interesting to watch.

I found a $9 quarter in the till that same day. I scooped it up for .25 - even at circulated condition of $4 I made 2000% on that simple transaction.

Think about it, 2000% profit. So what if it only equals $3.75 - if I stick to 2000% maybe I can con - er - TALK others into paying into my incredible investment scheme?

Wonder what that "profit" is by today? It was all based on the melt value of the coin - surely up now as the Big Guys are trying their best to divert the gains back into their court via the silver market.

                              Crazy game.
