Here's another item I wouldn't have ever tried, simply because the synthetic winch rope needed to use it costs so much. I can see where it would have appeal for the toque wearing shiny paint Jeep Wrangler crowd though.
synthetic rope is such a game changer, but the 'friction' of the wheel won't wear it. Try cutting it with a regular knife, it won't do it (ceramic, however, like butter). When the rope first came out there was the inevitable people blabbing that people were cutting the hook off the ropes while the vehicle sat unattended.... not true.
I still use Load Rated Steel Winch Cable.
wasn't impressed with the volume it uses up on the winch spool, and seen it "Melt" under load thru the fairleads in a Elko, Nv ORV run.
Also steel cable doesn't suck up water, and freeze together, that's a "Pistol" to pull out up here in the Frozen Tundra
