I know they lurk here occasionally - so here it goes

    Roadkill:

I get the show - take stuff that really doesn't look driveable and go on a roadtrip with it. To me, that's cool - lord knows there have been plenty of times in my life where I had to get through to payday and encouraging people to give it a try is laudable.

However, the latest episode they drive a Toyota pickup that takes 57 quarts of oil to traverse 500 miles. I've been there where I've had to drive crap vehicles that I shouldn't but did because I had to... but laying a smoke screen from Georgia to Florida just for clicks and views is utter BS. We already have a perception problem in the world, and then you do crap like this. I mean, I could forgive you if I thought you didn't know better or couldn't fix it... maybe you can't... however.

It's like the editor of HRM got bought by California and is trying to convince the rest of the world that cars are bad. Finnegan, Newbern, Freiburger.... please take the soonest possible moment and go screw yourselves. You don't talk for us and the sooner we're rid of idiots like you, the better. But hell, given some of the comments about you, Freiburger, by the contestants - it's like there's two strikes against it being stupidity rather then calculated malevolence.

Maybe if the three of you get an crananalreticulation*, you can come back - but until then, go away.

*means pull your head out of your anus.... I don't care how much you're enjoying it.... I know you don't care, but here's why I do care. There are people out there trying to survive and your little smoke screen is likely to become fodder for an enforcement action against people who cannot afford to do better. But you don't care, you got clicks...

Interesting. For every reality show like this, there are 2 audiences. The intended audience via the creator's choice of media, and the general public audience that bears witness to it first hand, live in person.

I feel as if the general public audience is less amused by such antics than the intended audience.

No need to give the public policy makers more ammo to use against us.

I won't buy it so I can't say really say anything except I feel like it is endemic - The highly profitable "Discovery Channel" formula dictates stupidity and thou shalt not offend the accountants.

Didn't these guys get smacked 850,000 for following that same "ULTIMATE BADASS EXTREME YOU'VE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE WILL IT RUN" clickbait agenda laid out by the Discovery and further supported by Alphabet's algorithm (Youtube)?

Opposite for me. I like Finnegan. When I met him he seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. Easy guy to talk to. Freiburger always seemed like he wanted the conversation to be about him. That gets old quick.

Roadkill is not as good as it once was maybe it starting to get like the hallmark channel Christmas movies the plot doesn't change.

I don't think it's funny to wreck a car just because you can and you don't have to fix/pay for it. Even of it is a POS why run it into the other pos. Rubbing is racing but alot of it is parking lot bumps not side by side racing.

I don't know why they don't get a real lap timer and leave the iphone for social update when they are racing.

So far I have enjoyed faster with Finnegan, making it better not just trashing stuff trying to get a laugh.

I've never had the chance to meet either and if I had maybe I might feel differently. I think it boils down to the fact that I can't relate to Finnegan , are any of his personal builds low buck or even somewhat affordable to you and I ? . As I've said before about Finnegan , maybe I'm jealous of all his toys not his life but his toys . And yes , Dulcich is the man !

I watched the show last night, and I don't understand why your panties (they're obviously not boxers, from reading your first post) are twisted so tight.

Mike's dad died, and here you are busting his chops.

I watched the show as well, not my favorite episode, failing on purpose is not entertaining. Like all shows every episode is not going to be a winner.
I really like all the MT shows, I like the F&F combo of roadkill as well as the F&D combo on RK garage. Some episodes are better than others.
On the latest RK I did enjoy the road trip to the FF, I follow Cleetus and watched the 2.4 hrs race so I enjoyed watching it from Freiburger's point
                          of view.

Sadly please Mike did lose his father but that was some time ago and why you would mention that is beyond me.

There are reasons (after all, if it bleeds it leads in the media world), but none of them bring his dad back nor should it enter into this discussion. Wrong doesn't change because of tragedy, not now, not ever. Tragedy should be used to encourage to do better.... and that, only adds to my point.
