    Part 3

Again, my Dad came down, and my son Shaun's family came up to my place.
Today's plan is to KD the Rocker Cover Racer for New Paint.
Ryker was in one of his "Independent Moods" this morning, and wanted "No Help" in taking his car apart.

And he did a good job of Wrenching by himself, but did give into a little help with the Phillips Sheet Metal Screws.

Then he needed a break as his Attention Span wandered to the Boxes from the new fender assemblies for the Samurai Project.

So, we took one into the house for some "Invention-ing" time to build a "Rocket Ship" Click image for larger version

After a lunch break and a little nap (as that's about all we got out of him)
we went back out to the shop for the Main Event...
          Paint !!!
Grandpa did the rattle can squirt job as Ryker watched in our Mini Paint Booth.
          First two coats of primer.

Click image for larger version Name:	KIMG2046.jpg Views:	0 Size:	720.0 KB ID:	1290864

Then the Two Coats of Hunter Green.

Click image for larger version Name:	KIMG2051.jpg Views:	0 Size:	742.9 KB ID:	1290865
And we are done with Part 3 as the paint needed to cure for a couple of days, and the next visit for, reassembly, and DECALS.

If you got to the first post in the thread (so back when you started the thread) it will let you edit the title.
Did you use Dan's hint and get the title renamed ?
If not, let me know what you want and I'll do it for you.

                Part 4
It has been a while since Ryker's been up to work on his Rocker Cover Racer.
Today's mission is to put the decals on and reassemble the Car.

I had him the whole Memorial Day Weekend from Friday to Monday.
Friday was a perfect day to work on his project as it was a Cool Rainy Day.

First with a welder's soap stone, we marked the areas that Decals would be covered by trim parts.

The First decals were the Car Number, Ryker Picked #80. I jokingly said How about 8D......"No Grandpa, it's to be Numbers!!" "Number 8 and a 0" !!
                Set me Straight, eh.
Then the rest went on. Grandpa showed him the first one, and how to just it on the tip of your finger, line it up, and press it down from the other end up to your finger tips, pushing any air bubbles out.

He did exceptionally WELL ! Some are a little off, but those "Sticker Coloring Books" taught him to get it where he wanted.
Once the Decals were on, then it was putting the Car back together. Click image for larger version

Everything went well on the reassembly,
now we just have to "Modify" the V8 emblem on the front of the Car.
As the Rule Book states, "NOTHING Including the Wheels, CAN NOT EXCEED the Gasket Lip on the FRONT of the Car"

Knowing how tough the competition is,
someone is going to "Challenge" his car for "Something" if he is "Running Hot" !!!! LOL
Grandpa will "Widdle" a 1/16 - 1/8 off the backside with my dremel tool, to make it flush. I will bring a Small Square and Feeler Gauges to Tech Inspection......(Old Skool Tech Inspection trick, start out about a NON issue part, and maybe they'll miss the others....LOL)

We were able to find some old Product Advertising Pictures, shrunk down and printed on card stock to Glue onto the
                        Transport Box.

You've made the travel case so nice that you'll need a case to protect the travel case. Soon it'll be like Russian dolls!
